Vasogard is a unique formula containing folic acid, B12, B6 and betaine to lower homocysteine levels. Homocysteine is an amino acid in our blood. Studies have shown that too much homocysteine is related to a higher vascular risk. Folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12 help breakdown and reduce homocysteine levels. Betaine has been added to this formula because it improves homocysteine levels through another mechanism. Betaine increases an enzyme called BHMT. This enzyme converts homocysteine to methionine, thereby decreasing homocysteine levels and increasing methionine levels. It is the inclusion of betaine in combination with folic acid, B6 and B12 that make Vasogard the most effective product available to lower homocysteine levels.
